Miss Teen Santa Cruz proves congenial
After winning Miss Teen Santa Cruz last summer, Scotts Valley’s Daniella Zuccolotto competed and finished in the top 30 in a Miss Teen California pageant sponsored by Danfranc Productions.
During the competition in Los Angeles from Friday through Sunday, April 23 to 25, Zuccolotto competed in a speech contest and evening gown competition. For her efforts, she was awarded the Miss Congeniality Award — one of 10 awards voted on by her fellow contestants.
“It was a really good experience, so I think I will do it again,” Zuccolotto said. “Not in this competition — maybe something with a talent competition.”
Zuccolotto is a Monte Vista Christian High School graduate and attends Cabrillo College. She hopes to transfer to San Jose State University after finishing her general education at Cabrillo.
Baymonte pair’s art featured in calendar
Artwork by Baymonte Christian School second-graders Bella Finney and Tasina Westberg will be featured in the 2011 Monterey Bay Unified Air Pollution Control District calendar.
Artists in first through eighth grades designed posters to illustrate sustainable practices that promote clean air as part of the 12th annual contest. Thirteen posters were chosen from among 755 applicants.
The winners received cash awards of $100 and had their art featured in the calendar.
