BOULDER CREEK — Construction work will soon delay motorists as the San Lorenzo Valley Water District starts construction on the “Regional Water System Emergency Intertie No. 6,” connecting the SLVWD Felton Water System and the SLVWD North Water System. The project will allow the separate water systems within the District to share water supply resources during emergencies such as fire or natural disaster.
Construction will begin the week of June 16, at the south end of the Twin Bridges near Brackney Road, and end at the stoplight near the entrance of San Lorenzo Valley High School. Most of the construction will be performed at night between 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. on Mondays through Thursdays, and Fridays between midnight and 6 a.m. The final roadway paving will be performed in the day between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. The project is expected to be completed by mid-February 2015. Construction updates can be reviewed on the district’s website at http://slvwd.com/projects.htm.
