The venerable Boulder Creek Art, Wine and Music Festival will mark its 20th year this weekend, with 20,000 visitors expected to wander Highway 9 and adjoining downtown side streets.
Eight Santa Cruz Mountain wineries and Boulder Creek Brewery will offer tastes as attendees browse 200 art, craft and vendor booths and listen to music from numerous local groups.
The event is sponsored by the Boulder Creek Business Association, which uses the proceeds to finance community events and services during the year.
Participating wineries will be Roudon-Smith Winery, Cooper-Garrod Estate Vineyards, Pelican Ranch Winery, Zayante Vineyards, Bargetto Winery, Bonny Doon Vineyard, Trout Gulch Vineyards and Soquel Vineyards.
Musical offerings will run the gamut from pop rock to funk and soul. The lineup:
Saturday: 12:30 p.m., Buffalo Canyon Band (folk rock); 2 p.m., Trusting Lucy (pop rock); 3:30 p.m., Velour (funk and soul); 5 p.m., Phat Chants (classic rock).
Sunday: 12:30 p.m. Jazzmanders (torch songs and show tunes); 2 p.m., Mountain Drive (bluegrass); 3:30 p.m., Roots 66 (greatest hits from quirky radio station KPIG); 5 p.m., Lady Bo (rhythm and blues).
Monday: 12:30 p.m., Off on a Tangent (classic rock and blues); 2 p.m., AstroCasters (pop rock); 3:30 p.m., Solaren (rock); 5 p.m., The Brunos (pop rock).
Vendors will include a juried show of arts and crafts, vintage clothing and collectibles, environmental groups and political action organizations.
