A celebration of life is planned March 14 for longtime Boulder Creek resident Charles “Charlie” Wheeler, 62, who died Feb. 22 at his home.
Mr. Wheeler was born on June 7, 1948, in Aiea, Hawaii, and lived in Boulder Creek for 35 years.
He worked for the city of Palo Alto as an electrical engineer for much of his career.
Family members said Mr. Wheeler loved camping, fishing, boating on his boat “Skeeter,” golfing, hanging out with friends and his puppy, Jager, and spending time in Hawaii.
Mr. Wheeler is survived by his wife, Irene Wheeler of Boulder Creek; daughter, Jennifer Wells, and her husband, Corey, of Wilmington, N.C.; sisters, Mary Ann “Penny” Robertson, and her husband, Dale, of Los Altos and Fran Kindle, and her husband, Chuck, of Puenta Gorda, Fla.; and five nieces and six nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Marylou Wheeler.
A celebration of Mr. Wheeler’s life will be from 2 to 5 p.m. March 14 at Scoppazzi’s Restaurant, 13300 Big Basin Way, in Boulder Creek.
