The highly anticipated Redwood Mountain Faire is back in business. The all-day music and arts festival will be June 5 at Roaring Camp Railroads in Felton.
For the occasion, Santa Cruz County Supervisor Mark Stone has proclaimed June 5, 2010, to be Redwood Mountain Faire Day in the county. In Felton specifically, the day features a musical lineup of 13 groups, headlined by Matt Costa and Jaymes Reunion, and 15 nonprofit groups will share the proceeds from the event.
Dividing up the hoped-for proceeds are Mountain Community Resources, Valley Churches United Mission, South Street Centre, Glen Arbor School, the San Lorenzo Valley High Boosters Club, the SLV Football and track teams, Pop Warner Football, the Cabrillo College Football team, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, Camp Joy, the SLV CERT Team, SLV Community Band and the host, the Valley Women’s Club.
The Redwood Mountain Faire ran for 18 years before it was canceled because the weekend festival became too unwieldy and no longer worthwhile for the many nonprofits that volunteered to run it.
A complete music lineup can be found at the fair’s website.
