EDITOR,
“County supervisor is a nonpartisan office, and I’m going to do everything I can to make sure it stays that way.”
Those exact words were spoken by 5th District county supervisor candidate Bruce McPherson at the beginning of his campaign, and he is 100 percent correct.
One needs to look no further than Sacramento or Washington, D.C., to see how hardcore partisanship has put a stranglehold on developing good policy. More than anyone in our area, Bruce McPherson is recognized as an independent moderate who is a consensus and community builder, as well as a problem solver. The goal should be for all elected representatives, from all parties, to work to come together towards the middle and to make an effort to come up with reasonable policies that actually come to fruition.
I am registered as “decline to state,” and I am confident that Bruce McPherson will keep the county supervisor a nonpartisan office in the name of good policy for all of us. He has done it before as our elected state representative, and he will do it now as our county supervisor. Please support Bruce.
