Bear Creek Road slide repairs to begin

Bear Creek Road will be closed during the day in Santa Clara County beginning September 10 as county crews repair slide damage on the rural roadway.
The road will be closed between Presentation Center (Two miles south of Highway 17 at Lexington) and Summit Road. Detours will be set up each day via Balck Road and Thompson Road at the bottom of the hill and via Summit Road and Highway 17.
The closures are scheduled to take place between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. on weekdays through October 12 and will re-open in the evenings. Some Saturday closures may be required. The closure is necessary because the contractor’s equipment will occupy the roadway as the slide damage is repaired.
Bear Creek Road is often used by commuters who travel to Silicon Valley from the San Lorenzo Valley.
