Oct. 1
4:48 p.m.: A Penske cargo van driven by a 27-year-old man from Oakland collided with a Monte Vista Christian School bus on Highway 17 southbound at Sims Road. The van driver was seriously injured and airlifted to a nearby hospital, and the bus driver received minor injuries. No students were aboard at the time. One lane was closed for several hours while emergency crews cleared the wreckage.

9:15 a.m.: A Santa Cruz Metro Transit bus struck a Volkswagen Jetta from behind at a stoplight on Mount Hermon Road near Kings Village Road. Five people in the bus were injured, and one passenger in the Jetta was hurt. Three were taken to the hospital to be treated for injuries.

Sept. 29
1:58 a.m.: Deputies pulled over a motorist for a vehicle code violation on the 10000 block of Highway 9 in Ben Lomond. The driver was arrested when the deputies determined that he was drunk.

9:28 p.m.: Two teenagers were arrested, issued citations and released to their parents when deputies caught them throwing rocks at passing vehicles on the 9700 block of Highway 9 in Ben Lomond. The rocks allegedly smashed a window of a Santa Cruz Metro bus and dented the door of another vehicle.

1 a.m.: A bicycle and other items, valued at about $1,000, were reported stolen from several unlocked vehicles on the 200 block of Nelson Road in Scotts Valley.

Sept. 29
1:06 a.m.: Two men were arrested at the 76 station on Mount Hermon Road, where workers reported that two drunk people had broken a window at the business using their fists. The men were reportedly apologetic and remained at the scene.

12:58 p.m.: Bags of change were reported stolen during the night from inside two unlocked vehicles parked on Oak Creek Boulevard.
Sept. 27
7:35 a.m.: Several calls to police arrived between 7:35 and 10:50 a.m. reporting that parked vehicles had been vandalized and burglarized during the night at several residences on Cadillac Drive. Among the items reported stolen were an iPod and a backpack. One vehicle’s roof was slashed.
8:20 a.m.: Power tools and a 30-pack of Budweiser beer were reported stolen from inside a garage on Quien Sabe Drive.

12:37 p.m.: Several items were reported stolen from inside an unlocked vehicle parked on Bean Creek Road.
Sept. 24
9:23 p.m.: Police received reports that a man was pressing all the stoplight buttons on the 200 block of Mount Hermon Road and was walking erratically in the middle of the road. The 24-year-old man was arrested when police determined he was under the influence of drugs.
