Scotts Valley High School had its second volunteer fair Friday, Nov. 9, in the school quad.
According to Christie Danne, a college and career counselor, the fair allowed students to find out about 15 local organizations and sign up for volunteer opportunities.
Scotts Valley High students must complete at least 60 hours of community service — 100 hours for a full International Baccalaureate Diploma — and the fair provided access to many opportunities.
Groups included Valley Churches United Missions, The Homeless Garden Project, Santa Cruz County Science Camp, the American Red Cross and many more.
“I think it’s so cool,” said sophomore Taylor Raymond. “I have been waiting to be a leader for science camp.”
