Victor Wahl obit

A celebration of life will be held March 2 in Boulder Creek to honor the life of Victor Joseph Wahl II, 62, who died unexpectedly in San Jose on Jan. 14.
A native of San Francisco, Mr. Wahl was a proud and an active alumnus of the Los Altos High School Class of 1968.
He graduated with a double major in political science and rhetoric and a minor in English literature from University of California, Davis, in 1972. He subsequently graduated from University of the Pacific McGeorge School of Law and was admitted into the California Bar Association in December 1977.
He dedicated his life to defending the rights of children during his 35 years of practice.
He was voted attorney most likely to be “in trial” by his office associates.
Mr. Wahl enjoyed grilling, cooking, traveling, scuba diving, snow and water skiing, golfing and woodworking. He coached Little League and California Youth Organization soccer in Los Altos. He was dedicated San Francisco 49ers fan.
Relatives described Mr. Wahl as brilliant, witty, wise, clever and brave.
He is survived by his wife, Michelle Wahl, of Boulder Creek; son, Nicholas Wahl, of Reno, Nev.; two stepchildren, Jeffrey Hopson, and his wife, Victoria, of Long Beach, and Amelia Shaw, and her husband, Mick, of Boulder Creek; mother-in-law, Lois Smith, of Yreka; brother, Steve Wahl, of Chester; sister, Sandy Wahl, and her husband, Danny, of Chester; and 20 nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Victor Sr. and Marjorie Wahl, of Los Altos.
A celebration of Mr. Wahl’s life will begin at 2 p.m. March 2 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, 13005 Pine St., in Boulder Creek, with a gathering in the hall to follow.
