A voter-imposed 0.5 percent sales tax increase will take effect April 1 in Scotts Valley. Sales tax will increase from 8.25 percent to 8.75 percent within the City of Scotts Valley.
City voters passed the Measure U, a sales tax increase during the Nov. 5, 2013 election with 74.91 percent approval. The tax is designed to help close the city’s budget deficit and to maintain departments and programs in the city.
