Matthew Hayden Hunt

Matthew Hayden Hunt

February 16, 1957 to February 19, 2015
Matthew Hayden Hunt passed away on Feb. 19, 2015 after a long battle with kidney failure.
Matt was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying fishing in the Eastern Sierras, camping — often of the extreme variety, dirt bike riding, gold panning, and guns. Many great days were spent with Chris and John riding and camping all over California.
Matt worked in Hollywood for many years as a greensman, supplying plants for the movie studios.
Matt moved his family to Scotts Valley to go into business with his father Gordon. Matt and his father had a successful machine shop in Scotts Valley for many years, Valley Tiger Manufacturing. Matt’s illness caused the shop to be closed.
After much waiting, Matt was finally at the top of the list for a kidney transplant. Sadly, this did not come soon enough.
Matthew is survived by his mother Peggy Hunt (spouse Calvin Clark); father Gordon Hunt; daughters Tera Hunt Mendoza (husband John and children Kayla, Andreya, and Anthony) and Chelsea Hunt (Shawn Kelley); and their mother Tina Corn Hunt. He is also survived by his sister Coleen Hunt (wife Monica Fajardo) and brother Curt (wife Robin and children Emily and Spencer).
Many extended family survive him as well, including mother-in-law Eunice Corn, Steve and Sallie Corn, and nephews Chris and John Corn.
He will be missed by many, his children most of all.
