Today, Friday, May 15, is the first day of the three-day Steady Ed Memorial Masters Cup disc golf tournament at DeLaveaga Disc Golf course.
Scotts Valley resident Nate Doss, the top-ranked player in the world, finished his first round this afternoon with a par on the 27th hole while many others were still out on the course.
The tournament began this morning and will finish on Sunday afternoon.
Doss is a favorite in the open division.
Other local competitors include Tim Messer, Jon Baldwin and Jim Hagan and Scotts Valley High teacher Jamie Tuckey, Brookdale’s Don Smith and Felton’s Jack Trageser.
Spectators are welcome at the tournament all three days.
