A former Scotts Valley parks and recreation aide, Trevor Arriola, 23, was arraigned in Santa Cruz County Court on Oct. 20 on four felony counts – use of obscene material involving a minor, possession of obscene material involving a minor, depiction of sexual conduct of a child and distribution of lewd material involving a minor.
He had been arrested Oct. 6 on two misdemeanor counts, involving online sharing of photographs with a 15-year-old Scotts Valley girl.
Scotts Valley Police Lt. John Wilson said he sent an email through the school system alerting parents of children in elementary and middle school to the circumstances of the arrest. He said evidence appears to have linked only one child to Arriola.
A preliminary hearing was set for Dec. 1.
