Last week, Scotts Valley High School student-athletes and Breakers FC players Ryan Gomez, Nico Smith and Matteo Carbone participated in the U.S. Soccer Development Academy’s Summer Showcase in Oceanside, where Development Academy soccer teams from around the nation met to compete in the Academy’s signature event.
The Showcase is year-end event that showcases the talent of elite soccer players nationwide to an audience of talent scouts and university coaches. The U.S. Soccer Development Academy is the highest level of youth soccer in the United States and offers a direct pathway for players to play professionally. Nearly 90% of youth national team players are Development Academy players.
