If you’re looking for flexibility and an individualized experience for your high school student’s education, consider Coast Redwood High School, a program within the SLVUSD Charter School.
Coast Redwood is WASC accredited, provides college and career counseling and helps students build the high school transcript that will allow them to meet their future goals. Its fully credentialed teachers provide flexible schedules with hybrid homeschool and in-person options, independent study options, as well as an 8:45am-12pm core-curriculum school day from Monday through Thursday, with optional electives until 2pm.
Highlights of its class offerings next year include a Mystery Writing English class (this year it has English through Myth, Magic and Folklore), an Environmental Horticulture course complete with a garden lab along with other invigorating Life Science course offerings, a Science Maker’s Space that will allow students to participate in Invention Convention, the Science Fair and other discovery projects.
Coast Redwood offers Aikido for P.E., Math curriculum tailored to students’ needs and current levels, Psychology and Art electives, Yearbook class, and more. It has Spirit Days, parties, community meetings, frequent Career Panel speakers, and goes on monthly field trips including an overnight camping experience.
As part of the SLV district, Coast Redwood offers access to AP courses, sports, band, drama, clubs and dances on SLV High School’s main campus, as well as dual enrollment at Cabrillo College.
