AgapeDanceAcademy invites the community to its Annual Agape Dance Foundation Benefit Auction which takes place November 15, 4:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Santa Cruz Portuguese Hall, 216 Evergreen Street, Santa Cruz.
The fundraiser includes a catered dinner, dance lessons, performances, and an auction. Tickets are $16.50 for adults and $5 for children age 13 and under.
Dress up and bring dancing shoes when you come to the Santa Cruz Portuguese Hall. The event promises to be a night full of dancing. After ballroom dance lessons, everyone can practice their skills on the dance floor.
“We have planned an upbeat playlist of dance tunes that can’t be beat,” said owner Melanie Useldinger. “This fundraiser will be a definite FUNraiser.” “This is our biggest fundraiser of the year,” said Useldinger. “The funds raised from it allow Agape to stage professional ballet and hire world class dancers.”
AgapeDanceAcademy is staging a performance of “The Nutcracker” on the weekend of December 18 at the MelloCenter in Watsonville. The performance will be free to the community.
Cast to perform as the Sugar Plum Cavalier in the “The Nutcracker” production is master instructor Anton Pankevich, who trained at the VaganovaAcademy in St. Petersburg, the School of American Ballet in New York City, and at San FranciscoBalletSchool. He has danced professionally with the world’s largest, most famous ballet companies.
