City of Scotts Valley is looking for interested residents to participate in the first-ever Citizens Academy, the deadline of which to apply is next Friday.

This City-hosted educational series will take place across eight Tuesday evenings, starting Sept. 26 (skipping Halloween) and ending on Nov. 14. Participants will hear from each of the City’s departments as well as the school, fire and water districts.

Each evening will be packed with information about budgets, services, priorities and projects, providing an inside look at how local government functions. The program will include tours of facilities, games and activities to help participants better understand how government works.

Only 15 to 25 participants will be accepted to ensure that everyone has time to ask questions and fully participate in activities. It will be important that participants commit to all sessions and arrive on time. A light dinner will be served with each session, starting at 5:30pm and ending by 8pm.

Applications are due by Sept. 8, and can be found at tinyurl.com/2h39fm7u. Contact [email protected] with any questions.
