Cal Fire has a wildfire in Boulder Creek about half contained.
Flames started at a home on Mayfair Road at about 11 a.m. this morning. The agency is calling it the Bear Fire. According to Cal Fire, they have evacuated nearby homes and are battling the flames on the ground and in the air with multiple helicopters and air tankers.
As of 12:30 p.m. the fire was 15 acres but according to a post just before 3 p.m. the fire was down to 8-10 acres and 50% contained.
“Air resources and firefighters have made great progress over the past couple hours and with less smoke production the acreage has been better estimated,” the Tweet read.
