A Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Department forensics van sits outside the Boulder Creek Cemetery on Saturday following the discovery of two bodies.

Investigators with the Santa Cruz Sheriff’s Office are looking into the discovery of two bodies in Boulder Creek Cemetery Saturday morning — and a possible double suicide.
Investigators believe the unidentified elderly couple lived near the cemetery, 299 Harmon St., and say they found a handgun and suicide note was found near the bodies.
The two bodies were found close together in a bloated, decomposing state by a volunteer caretaker. Detectives believe the bodies had been there for about a week before they were discovered. The Sheriff’s Department hasn’t released a statement except to say they do not suspect foul play and are working to contact the couple’s family members.
