Kiwanis Club of Scotts Valley
The club set up tents and canopies for the Santa Cruz Symphony’s Kentucky Derby fundraiser May 3.
Members also participated in the Santa Cruz Volunteer Center Human Race on May 11. The Scotts Valley Police Department D.A.R.E. fundraiser on May 15 included a Kiwanis foursome. The club transported its portable stage to Marina for an American Cancer Society fundraiser. Members also performed a Highway 17 cleanup.
The club meets 7 a.m. Wednesdays at Heavenly Café, 1270 Mt. Hermon Road (cost is $5), except the second Wednesday of each month, when the meeting begins at 6 p.m. at Sandabs, 11 Camp Evers Lane, in Scotts Valley (cost is $20).
Rotary Club of Scotts Valley
The club had one of its biggest yearly fundraisers, Island Fever Bids for Kids, on April 25. 
The club also had its annual Student Awards and Scholarship Dinner on May 4 for outstanding Scotts Valley students. Members also participated in the All Service Club Bocce Tournament. Nine club members participated in Rotary’s District Assembly in San Jose on May 13 and 16. On May 23, a group of Rotarians repaired a Scotts Valley resident’s unstable front porch as part of Helping Hands.
The club meets from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Mondays at the Scotts Valley Hilton. Lunch is at 12:15 p.m. and costs $16.
Rotary Club of San Lorenzo Valley
Members celebrated Memorial Day by riding in a bubble-blowing hay wagon in the Felton Remembers Parade.
The club helped a Lompico resident by repairing and rebuilding the steps to her two-story home. President John Kegebein presented $1,000 scholarships to San Lorenzo Valley High School students Mary Proffitt and Tucker Brofft.
June programs: June 3, member talks; June 10, Allart Ligtenberg, Rotary International funding for solar projects; June 24, no meeting.
The club meets at 7:15 a.m. Wednesdays in Birch Dining Room on Conference Drive in the Mount Hermon Conference Center. Cost is $10.
Scotts Valley Host Lions Club
The club took home the winning trophy from the Scotts Valley nonprofit organizations’ bocce tournament.
The club also contributed to Ronald McDonald House Charities, the Assisted Living Project, Hospice of Santa Cruz County and Dominican Hospital Foundation. The club also gave scholarships to two Scotts Valley High School seniors in honor of their community service.
June programs: June 16, Laura Kasa, Save Our Shores.
The club meets at the Scotts Valley Senior Center at 7 a.m. Tuesdays, with the exception of the second Tuesday of each month, when the meeting begins at 6:30 p.m.
Monterey Bay Consultants Group
June program: June 1, Robert Middleton, author of Marketing Mastery, “Marketing and Selling High-End Services.”
The group meets at 11:30 a.m. at MacKenzie Grill, Pasatiempo Golf Club. Cost is $45 for guests.
Exchange Club of Scotts Valley
Several members will attend the California/Hawaii/Nevada District Convention from June 24 to 28.
June programs: June 6, officers’ installation banquet.
The club meets at noon Wednesdays at the Scotts Valley Hilton. For reservations: 438-1000.
