Damians Ladder, a Scotts Valley-based nonprofit organization, has released its 2026 Annual Report, highlighting the impact of its home repair and property maintenance services for low-income seniors and residents with disabilities in Santa Cruz County.
The report covers the organization’s work from its founding in December 2023 through June 30, 2026. During that time, 528 residents requested assistance. Damians Ladder received 887 service requests and completed 834 of them, representing a 94% completion rate.
The organization’s 22 field volunteers contributed 1,960 hours of service, providing an estimated $245,000 in value to the community. Client surveys showed a 96% overall satisfaction rating.
Damians Ladder projects reaching 1,000 completed service requests in late summer 2026 and serving 600 seniors and residents with disabilities by that milestone.
The nonprofit said its work has been made possible through private donations and grants from the local business community, including more than $40,000 in 2026 grants from Community Foundation Santa Cruz County.
“The number of clients served has been impressive, and the need continues to grow as our senior population expands across the county,” said Chuck Maffia, board chair of Damians Ladder, in the report.
