Construction work on Highway 17 in Scotts Valley from south of Mt. Hermon Road to one-half mile north of Glenwood Drive will result in northbound and southbound lane closures beginning Monday, April 15, at 8:30pm.

The closure of the Highway 17 northbound lanes will take place weekly Sundays through Thursdays from 8:30pm to 5am and Fridays from 12am to 5am. The closure of Highway 17 southbound lanes will take place weekly Sundays through Thursdays from 9pm to 6am and Fridays from 12am to 7am.

These closures will allow Caltrans to begin a pavement and grind project and install high friction surface treatment.

The contractor for this $5.3 million project is Graniterock Construction of Watsonville.

Construction work is expected to be completed on Aug. 18.

Travelers are encouraged to be aware of electronic message boards, flaggers and all highway workers within these work zones.
