Seek Facts Before Voting on Fire Measure
As a resident and property owner in Felton Fire Protection District, I am concerned about the untruths, misconstrued information and out-of-date material being published in print and social media, and online, and via mail service about the proposed Felton Fire Special Benefit Assessment.
As someone who is part of an independent group of local residents, who have studied this matter intensely for the past nine months, I question where some of these “writers” are getting the information they are falsely presenting as fact.
Whether folks are for this assessment or not, I caution them to examine the “facts” on which they’re basing their vote. Many of them are mere best-case scenarios, assumptions and suppositions, not born out by history or recent experience with the take-over of other local distressed fire departments.
Many of these issues are being addressed at Town Halls held by Felton Fire Interim Chief Isaac Blum at Felton Fire. Please check the Felton Fire website for dates and times, FeltonFire.com, as additional opportunities for questions have been added to the calendar.
Thanks for your time and attention to this important local matter. Our decision about local fire services depends on accurate information.
