Joining more than 10 million others, the Press-Banner is now tweeting.
With the user name “PressBanner,” the newspaper will update its status regularly through the Web site www.twitter.com.
“So many people are using Twitter these days, it’s only natural for newspapers to expand their Web presence to incorporate it as an instant communication tool,” Amanda Matthews, the paper’s general manager, said. “Some people think it’s a waste of time, but you could be the first one to hear about something without having to browse the Web for news all day.”
Press-Banner followers can expect breaking news updates, interesting links and general communication about what stories the paper’s reporters are pursuing.
The staff also welcomes readers to send messages directly to the paper through Twitter if there is something newsworthy going on in the community.
The Press-Banner can also be contacted in other ways. E-mail pb******@pr*********.com, call 438-2500, visit www.pressbanner.com or drop by 5215 Scotts Valley Drive, Ste. F.
