Local rider wins blue ribbons

The San Lorenzo Valley High softball team’s season ended May 28 in an 8-0 loss to Notre Dame of Belmont in the semifinals of the Division III Central Coast Section tournament.

Roisin Taylor Gill was born at 1:45 p.m. Sept. 7, 2010, to Lila Kai (Mangen) and Marcus Taylor Gill of Boulder Creek. She weighed 8 pounds, 1 ounce at Sutter Maternity and Surgery Center in Santa Cruz.

School is just around the corner in our valleys, and students will soon get back into the thick of academics, athletics and other extracurricular activities. There are a couple of things on our minds as the summer lull yields to fall hubbub.

I am writing because of Scotts Valley High School’s play, “Durang & A Dollar.” I found it to be surprisingly disrespectful.

Dylan John Meekwas born at 11:06 p.m. Nov. 15, 2013 to Porsche and Kieran Meek of Boulder Creek. He weighed 8 pounds, 4 ounces at Sutter Maternity and Surgery Center in Santa Cruz.
