The San Lorenzo Valley IOOF/SLV summer softball season is well under way. In the men’s league, the Flingers have proven themselves by starting the season undefeated while the Mountain Mechanics and Steelheads battle for first place in the Co-ed A league.

Normally, I write about other people’s lives, but this time I’ve been asked to share a little of my story.

It is estimated that about a third of our population suffers from some form of insomnia. For some, it is severe and chronic, and for others it is mild and due to obvious factors, such as pain, illness, anxiety or recent travel.

The new year has arrived, and with it myriad resolutions. For many of us, including myself, those resolutions center on getting healthier and fitter.

The recent decision by the United States Supreme Court upholding the Affordable Care Act will likely go down as the most important decision of the past several decades.
