San Lorenzo Valley and Scotts Valley voters took to the polls on Tuesday, casting votes on a range of local issues. Among the contests were two seats on the Scotts Valley City Council, a countywide measure to levy a business tax on medicinal marijuana dispensaries, and a pair of highly contentious water district board races.

Storm-damaged sections East Zayante Road in Felton and Nelson Road in Scotts Valley are currently under construction, and are scheduled to reach completion by the end of this year, say county officials.

Boulder Creek’s KBCZ non-profit community radio station will soon begin broadcasting on the dial at 90.1 FM and will also be available to stream over the Internet.

The future of local farming could be taking place in Scotts Valley, as a local woman’s partnership with a young farmer to covert her seven-acre property into a functioning farm has proven bountiful for both.
