We support Measure S for our local schools! The Valley Women’s Club is a long-standing civic organization based in the SLV with goals of community action, awareness and leadership in environmental, educational, social, and political concerns that affect the health and welfare of the San Lorenzo Valley and our community.

So I joined that new gym in Scotts Valley, not club No. 2. And, I must say, it is quite amazing! I will be writing about it in future columns. But something happened this week that I thought was thought-provoking on many levels.

Though the Bethany University men’s basketball team is winless, there’s a feeling of positive energy going into the last eight games of the regular season.

Warm water is making its way closer to shore, and the highly migratory albacore are soon to follow. Private boats are looking for and commercial fishermen are already landing albacore. Salmon fishing, along with rockfish and halibut, are still providing good inshore action.
