If you were wondering, Heather and I are married. We had a wonderful ceremony May 15, 2011, at Mount Hermon Christian Conference Center, and thanks to some of your trees, we had enough homemade lemonade (32 gallons!).

I don't know about your plans for the summer, but I'll be sticking close to home. What with the price of gas and groceries, I'm planning a couple of camping trips in our great state. I guess you could say I'm going to be enjoying a "staycation."

Noted geologist Frank Perry has become a local Renaissance man of sorts. Not only has he been a standout leader on our annual geology walks along the San Lorenzo River — his third one will be June 18 — but he has signed on to create six outdoor interpretive signs at University of California, Santa Cruz.

San Lorenzo Valley High School distance runners Cody Johnson, and Anna Maxwell, and Scotts Valley High School’s Vanessa Fraser each improved their personal records at the California Interscholastic State Track and Field meet at Buchanan High in Clovis on June 4 and 5.
