Scotts Valley Little League

The San Lorenzo Valley boys’ volleyball team rolled over the Harbor Pirates in three quick games winning 25-15, 25-18, 25-16 on April 26 at SLV High.

The San Lorenzo Valley Water district announced the winners of its annual environmental grant contest last week.

Johanna Michelle D’Andrea was born to Maia Elena (Mosher) and Philip Matthew D’Andrea of Ben Lomond at 8:52 p.m. April 5, 2011, at Sutter Maternity and Surgery Center in Santa Cruz. She weighed 7 pounds, 5 ounces.

April is a month of change in the garden.

Last year, I had to do a field research paper on addiction to fulfill one of my class requirements for my addiction studies major at Bethany University. It was a great project. All I did was hang out at my two favorite coffee houses, The White Raven in Felton and Peet’s Coffee & Tea in Scotts Valley. The following is a portion of my term paper:

I drove my Yellow Cab on a very hectic St. Patrick's Day one Thursday night last month. It's always one of top three busiest shifts of the year, so early Friday morning, I was dead tired and ready to go home. Just before logging off though, at about 3:30 a.m., I got dispatched for a pickup in Scotts Valley, scheduled to go all the way to the Mountain Store in Boulder Creek.
