The Scotts Valley Farmers’ Market will open at a new long-term location at Graham Plaza, 219 Mount Hermon Road, beginning next Saturday, according to the Santa Cruz Community Farmers’ Markets.
The weekly market, which previously operated at the Boys and Girls Club site, is relocating after plans for renovations at that property prompted organizers to seek a new home. In May, the Scotts Valley City Council approved the move to the Graham Plaza location.
“We are quite excited to announce the beginning of summer with the transition of the Scotts Valley Farmers’ Market to a new long-term home in the Graham Plaza in the upper parking lot at 219 Mount Hermon Road,” said Nicole Zahm, communications and programs manager for Santa Cruz Community Farmers’ Markets, in a press release.

Zahm said news of the Boys and Girls Club’s impending renovation “put a fire under us to find a new spot,” and local businesses embraced the possibility of moving the market to Mount Hermon Road.
The market’s opening day at its new location is scheduled for June 27. It will operate every Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon through Thanksgiving.
According to Santa Cruz Community Farmers’ Markets, the Scotts Valley market features a curated collection of regional farms and food businesses offering fresh produce, eggs, artisanal baked goods, garden starts, charcuterie, apothecary items and preserves.
Shoppers can expect seasonal offerings including romano beans, blueberries, heirloom tomatoes, garlic, sweet potatoes and a variety of stone fruits. Vendors also will offer peppers, honey, winter squash, nectarines, pluots, peaches, grapes, citrus, microgreens, mushrooms, flowers and garden starts.

Participating food vendors include Companion Bakeshop, Beckmann’s, Adorable French Bakery, Hidden Fortress Coffee, Empanadas La Linda, El Salchichero and Freckles Pickles. Rotating vendors also will offer handmade crafts, soaps and specialty items.
“We invite you to mingle, shop and have a meal every Saturday, 8am-noon, at this special community market place we call the Scotts Valley Farmers’ Market,” Zahm said.
The market will continue participating in the Market Match Program, which helps CalFresh and EBT recipients purchase fresh produce. Under the program, $15 in EBT benefits is matched with an additional $15 in tokens that can be used to buy fresh fruits and vegetables.
