Charity golf tournament on tap
St. Michael’s Catholic Church will take early-bird registration for the seventh annual S. Michael’s Catholic Church Golf Tournament & Dinner-Auction Fundraiser until Sept. 12.
The tournament will be at Boulder Creek Golf Course, followed by dinner at Scopazzi’s Restaurant, on Friday, Sept. 21. The early-bird cost is $135 for a barbecue lunch, a golf cart and dinner.
Entry forms can be downloaded at www.st-michaelschurch.org or at the golf course pro shop.
 
Equestrian shows well
Mei Curry, of Scotts Valley, took home first and second-place titles for Glenwood Equestrian Center on Aug. 19.
The 16-year-old competed on Cody, a registered Paint, in the Seven Oaks Dressage Extravaganza in Woodside.
The wins qualify her to compete in the finals Oct. 28 at Seven Oaks Ranch in Woodside.
 
Basketball coach to host clinic
Scotts Valley resident Dan Mooney, basketball coach at Monte Vista Christian School and former coach at Bethany University, will lead a three-day basketball clinic this weekend.
The clinic, for children in first to 12th grades, will be Saturday, Sept. 1, to Monday, Sept. 3, at Oakwood School in Morgan Hill.
The cost is $135.
