UPDATED:
A 22-year-old man last seen in Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park was found Tuesday evening after being reported missing earlier in the afternoon.
It was not clear as of 7 p.m. where he was found or why he was missing.
The man, Gabrielle Lorette-Smith, attends San Jose State University and according to Press-Banner records was a 2010 San Lorenzo Valley High School graduate.
He left the university and was last seen on Monday night, March 18 by a State Parks official who cited him for illegal camping inside the park.
He is 5-feet, 10 inches tall and 150 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black sweatshirt with white lettering on the front, light blue jeans and black shoes. He may be carrying a dark-colored sleeping bag a navy-blue backpack and a Bible.
A roommate in his residence hall reported him missing to San Jose State police late Monday night because his behavior had changed the past couple of months. The Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office does not consider him violent.
Missing fliers have been put up throughout the San Lorenzo Valley area and anyone with information should contact the Sheriff’s Office dispatch line at 471-1121.
