Valley Churches United Missions’ Board of Directors announced that David Mills has tendered his resignation as Executive Director of the Ben Lomond non-profit organization. The board is planning to hire an interim Executive Director to assume Mills’ duties until a permanent replacement can be found.
Mills indicated he left the post to pursue other opportunities. “I’m incredibly proud of what we achieved while I was at Valley Churches. I learned a great deal and met some wonderful people. Valley Churches is a shining example of community engagement. I enjoyed my tenure there and appreciate all that I have learned. There are other things that I would like to pursue at this time in my life, and Valley Churches deserves the commitment of full time leadership.”
“We are thankful for David’s leadership over the past year as his expertise strengthened VCUM in several areas, including volunteer engagement, special events fundraising, and operations. He also led the way and encouraged us to focus on marketing and social media,” said Al Frischmann, Chairman of the Board of Directors.
“The core of the organization, the staff and volunteers, won’t need me to carry on. However, I urge the community to continue their financial support for the mission. In particular, I encourage the long-time supporters to advocate for the vital function the organization serves. I’m certainly an advocate. The business model is remarkable and I believe the good that happens there is truly scarce in our world. It’s a great place,” said Mills.
Valley Churches United Missions’ programs include emergency food distribution, direct aid assistance for crisis rent, utility and medical needs, educational supplies, disaster relief, and holiday projects.
