On Saturday, Jan. 27, a little bit of New Orleans will decorate Santa Cruz as the Parent-Teacher Association of Vine Hill Elementary throws the Vine Hill Auction Gala 2024 Mardi Gras Party at the Boardwalks’ Cocoanut Grove from 5-11pm.

Featuring both a live and silent auction, live music, dinner and an open bar, this festive event is sure to bring out the who’s who of Scotts Valley.

The event will be hosted by Danny Miller, the in-stadium host of the San Jose Sharks and the San Jose Earthquakes, and the night host of KBAY-FM and KKDV-FM (Bay Country) San Jose, with Auctioneer Andrew Freeman presiding over the goods and services that will be on the auction block.

The Auction Gala is one of the main annual fundraisers that the PTA hosts to support the yearly intake goal of over $300,000. All funds raised from the event will help to preserve much-needed programs for the elementary school’s students.

“Although the Scotts Valley School District is the fifth least funded district in the state, you would never know it thanks to the PTA and our amazing teachers and administration,” according to Liz Kramer, PTA VP and fundraising/auction chair. “Vine Hill has an incredibly supportive community, dedicated educators, and an environment that makes it an exceptional school for growth and learning. It is truly a special place.”

Tickets, which are expected to sell out, can be bought online at VineHillGala2024.eventbrite.com.
