Scotts Valley Rangers 13, SLV Braves 6
The Braves had some trouble on defense, and the Rangers took advantage with big clutch hits. The Braves started a couple of rallies with two hits each from Jackson Turner and Tanner Murray. Howard Forehan knocked in Turner in the fifth, and Thomas Moore singled and then scored in the sixth on a Jack Gentry double to right.
SV Cardinals 6, SLV Giants 3
The SV Cardinals’ Gregory Neiger and Cameron McGrew worked out of jams to save the lead. The Cardinals took the lead in the first with double from McGrew. Tyler Bustichi and Neiger knocked back-to-back doubles to rally in the third. The Giants’ Matt Siordia settled in on the hill and shut out the Cards for the final three innings. The Giants had two runners on base in the fourth and one on in the fifth, but couldn’t score.
Braves 4, Giants 1
The Braves’ Jackson Turner had a 12-pitch battle with the Giants’ Matt Robustelli, who doubled. Turner also knocked in a run in the fifth with a single. With the score 2-1 entering the fifth, Tanner Murray singled, and Jack Gentry later tripled to the fence, setting up Turner’s clutch single. The Giants scored on singles in the second from Matt Siordia and Jacob Auldridge. Robustelli pitched well for the Giants, striking out seven in 4-2/3 innings.
Minors Division
A’s 5, Dodgers 0
David George and Stephen Markey combined for a two-hit shutout while striking out 12. The A’s scored off six hits by Chris Markey, Reese Castagna, Kaden Waltrip, Andy Wise, Carl Snyder and James Menzies. For the Dodgers, Blake Kuehl and Aidan Callahan had hits. Menzies for the A’s and Owen Andrews and Christian Carney for the Dodgers made strong catches in the outfield.
A’s 6, Red Sox 4
The Red Sox scored three in the sixth but fell short to the A’s. Two hits by Stephen Markey and hits by Andy Wise, Carl Snyder, James Menzies and Christopher Markey helped lead the A’s to their third victory of the season. The three Red Sox hits came from the bats of Kaleb Hedstorm, Tyler Godeck and Shayne Kiyabu. Left fielder Trent Moore made an outstanding fly-ball catch in the third for the A’s
Braves 8, Giants 5
The Braves got five in the fourth for what turned out to be a come-from-behind win at Michael Gray Field. With Max Noble aboard after a walk, four of the next five Braves reached base and scored along with Noble. Chris Anderson also scored earlier, after a walk in the first and a double in the third. The Giants scored five in the fourth with no outs, part of which was Vernon Frieberg’s single. Chris Anderson pitched four innings with six strikeouts and five walks.
Dodgers 6, Red Sox 4
The Dodgers’ fourth inning got them the maximum five runs with no outs. Blake Kuehl roped a double into the gap at Michael Gray, and Kobe Pane doubled before Charlie Hayes crushed a triple. The Dodgers used four pitchers, who combined for seven strikeouts and only one walk. The Red Sox were led by Tyler Goedeck, who was 2-for-3, and Jaden Swanson, who had two singles and two doubles.

AA Division
Mets 16, A’s 15
A Double-A classic at the Little League Field Friday night! The A’s jumped out to an 8-0 lead thanks to RBI singles from Cooper Austin and then from Alex Crandall. In the second Kyle Brown knocked a 2-out single, followed by Eli McMillin’s RBI single. But the Mets took out their frustration on the machine, getting the maximum 5 runs in the 2nd and 3rd. Josh Purtsher finished the second with a double, and Xander Krikke ended the third with a triple to knock in Connor Urbancic. The A’s led 15-12 going into the open inning, when the Mets caught fire with doubles from Brody Cusimano and Isaac Wallace-Menge. Xander popped a single to end the game! Fans and kids enjoyed the spotlight of the “Majors” field, the snack shack, the scoreboard, the dugouts. Great crowd for a memorable Friday Night !
Pirates 13, A’s 12
In another barn-burner at the big-boy Pony Field, the Pirates held off the A’s. The Pirates needed every run they got in the fifth. Connor Bisby led off with a single. Trevor Cambron singled, and Gabrial Michaud followed with another single. Then singles from Gavin Gasparotti, Ryan Oropeza, and Jack Huxtable gave them the lead. But it was the Pirates’ defense that preserved the win. They made a force out at second, then their second baseman made an unassisted out and then caught a fly in the 6th to end it! The Pirates had made four other outs in the game at second. For the A’s, Aden Rich hit for the cycle! Cameron Chetcuti was 3 for 4 with three runs. Morgan Chamberlin crushed two singles and later scored. These kids can hit!
Giants 21, Mets 14
The pitching machine got a workout in the sun on Saturday. Teams combined for 65 hits and 5 touchdowns worth of runs. Elena Ballas roped a triple for the Giants. Brodie Brownlee was 4 for 4 with a double and three singles. For the Mets, Josh Purtscher knocked in4 runners with two doubles and a single, and he scored all three times he reached base! Mets’ third basemen made three unassisted plays in the game!
