EDITOR,
The Press-Banner each week as it is a great source of information for the community in which we live. I have to say, though, that the Dispatch Log seems to always have at least one incident in which an individual reports stolen property from an unlocked car or home.
I just don’t get it. Yes, Scotts Valley is a safe town; however, in times of economic hardships, people are desperate. Leaving wallets, computers and other valuables in unlocked cars is unbelievable. I would be embarrassed to contact the police to report that my purse was stolen out of my unlocked vehicle.
Please, remember that there is no such thing as a town called Mayberry and that it only takes a second to lock your car or home. Protect yourself and your valuables and eliminate these unnecessary calls to the police department. I am sure they have more important things to attend to.
On the other hand, it is nice to see that the Dispatch Log is very minimal, which again says to me that Scotts Valley is a very safe place to live.
