Garage sale fundraiser in support of Ramey White and family
A garage sale at the Boulder Creek Flea Market at Junction Park on May 9 will help raise money for the family of Ramey White.
White was stricken with Guillain-Barre Syndrome — or GBS, an autoimmune disease that attacks the nervous system — during a family trip to Lake Tahoe in January. The disease left him paralyzed and unable to care for his fiancé, 6-year-old son and seven-month-old baby. Doctors say it could take years for White to recover.
Volunteers are selling high-quality items at the flea market booth from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The proceeds from the sale will go directly to White’s family.

Public input needed for SLVWD projects
The San Lorenzo Valley Water District announced a public workshop on May 9 to get input about how to prioritize the next decade of capital improvement program projects.
Members of the public will be able to weigh in on priorities including system reliability, fire service, environmental process and water quality during the two hour workshop.
The input from this meeting will be used to rank current and new projects at a second workshop, which will be held in June.
The meeting is May 9 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Felton Community Hall, 6191 Highway 9.

Overnight lane closure on Highway 17 begin Monday

CalTrans will close one lane of northbound Highway 17 between Glenwood Drive and Spanish Oaks Road for four nights beginning Monday.

Road crews will install telecommunications fiber cable for Comcast between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. through Friday.

Motorists can expect the left lane to remain open throughout the work and should experience minimal delays.

A news release from CalTrans reminded drivers to slow down when driving through any highway work zone. Residents can get more information by calling at (831)423-0396 or visiting http://www.dot.ca.gov/dist05/paffairs/release.htm#scr.
