Five-year-old Annalee Sater was diagnosed with cancer in December. La Rue De Corriere in Scotts Valley hosted a raffle fundraiser to help Annalee’s family afford chemotherapy and other treatments.

People with big hearts live in Scotts Valley and the surrounding community!
On Saturday and Sunday, business owners Shanna Corriere and Carol Liu of La Rue De Corriere organized a raffle fundraiser for Annalee Sater and brought out a great deal of the community as well as the community spirit.
In December, Annalee, a Baymonte School kindergartner, was diagnosed with cancer. Since then, she has been undergoing costly chemotherapy that has taxed her family’s resources.
People from as far away as San Jose came to visit the store and to participate in the raffle.
The public bought a total of $1,900 worth of tickets. Some people also donated on the website.
Corriere and Liu thanked all the people in the community who participated in the event. Knowing how difficult it is to be the older sibling of a sick sister, the 12 vendors displaying their wares in La Rue De Corriere also took up a collection for Annalee’s older brother, Cayden, and gave him a gift of $100.
The Sater family was overcome by the generosity of the community and Corriere and Liu’s efforts to help with finances for Annalee’s cancer treatment.
“Shanna and her store are unbelievable. The love and support from the community so overwhelmed us. We feel blessed to live in such a community!” her mother, Christina Sater, said.
She reported that Annalee is doing OK. Her treatment is being transferred to Stanford, where they hope to conquer the cancer.
Corriere and Liu plan to do more community fundraising events to benefit various local organizations and individuals: www.facebook.com/LaRueDeCorriere.
