On Sunday night, September 13, a couple came in my restaurant to dine in the lounge area. The bartender went to wait on them and she was treated rudely and with no respect from that couple. She turned the table over to our waiter, Justin, who also was treated rudely and received complaints about the drinks, food, service and the restaurant in general.
The couple ate the food and walked out without paying, which prompted me to go outside to take their license plate number to report to the police.
Justin and one of the customers followed outside where the couple confronted them and stabbed both of them.
Fortunately, the injuries were not life threatening. Since this ‘altercation,’ there has been a lot of community support for us from San LorenzoValley and the Santa Cruz communities.
Myself, my partner and all the staff at Scopazzi’s Restaurant are very grateful for all the support.
We are also grateful to the Boulder Creek Fire Department, the medical response team and the Santa Cruz Sheriff’s Department for their excellent service.
