Every American Deserves Secure and Fair Elections
On July 16, President Trump addressed the nation where he presented allegations of foreign election interference and influence in 2018’s midterms and 2020’s presidential elections. Every American, whether Republican, Democrat, Independent or otherwise, should be able to agree that we need and deserve a secure, honest and fair election system. Secure elections should not be a partisan issue that divides Americans.
President Trump pointed the nation to examine documents just declassified and released, which he said showed evidence of a widespread scheme to create fake voter registrations in Michigan. The documents reveal 278,000 non-citizens are currently registered to vote in U.S. federal elections. This number doesn’t include states that refused to share voter rolls with the federal government, so the number could be quite a bit higher.
Whether you like or hate this administration, this allegation is serious enough to look through some of the primary source material for yourself. Do your own research. Make your own conclusions. As with any important research, it takes some work, but when you do it yourself, you can be free of the cacophony of partisan influence.

More to Say About ‘Affordable Housing’
Scotts Valley used to be home to the Lost World, a popular roadside amusement park from 1964-77. Now it can be home to a lost world once again, due to the “affordable housing” developments going up all over town.
What was once a small family bedroom community in the Santa Cruz Mountains is fast becoming a sprawling community of high-rise apartment buildings. Instead of developers buying and redoing the old, rundown properties currently on Scotts Valley Drive, they are choosing to invade our family neighborhoods with multi-story apartment complexes.
A case in point is 125 Bethany Drive, which has been sold to a Kansas developer. This developer knows nothing about our small community but will build up to an 80-foot high-rise to help satisfy the state’s ever-growing housing crisis. As they will not be required to pay any property tax, this will be of no financial benefit to our city and community.
Thanks to our governor, this is our reality now! It’s happening everywhere throughout Santa Cruz County, and it’s a crying shame. I encourage everyone to write, text or call our local representatives and complain in an effort to stop this madness and plead for this “affordable housing” to be built in a more appropriate location.
