A 28-year-old woman died and a 30-year-old man was arrested on felony DUI charges after a deadly crash on Jan. 10 in Scotts Valley.
Jesse Lemol Vong, a San Jose native, while under the influence of alcohol and drugs lost control of his Volkswagen Golf on El Rancho Drive north of Hunt Court, drove up an embankment, hit a tree and overturned, California Highway Patrol Officer Sam Courtney said.
He was rushed to Santa Clara Valley Medical Center with major injuries.
The woman, Vong’s passenger, died at the scene on El Rancho Drive.
No other vehicles were involved.
