Locals recognized after preventing Mountain Store fire

In the late evening Aug. 21, Larry Bourdeau, a man with a history of arson-related offenses, tried to put the Mountain Store in Boulder Creek to the torch. A surveillance video showed Bourdeau setting fire to the papers on a bulletin board attached to the front of the building and leaving the scene.

A memorial service will be Jan. 15 for Adams George “Chip” O’Brien II, who died Dec. 28 in Santa Cruz. He was 55.
