Enough "Stuff" I love a good yard sale, and I have to admit that when I first saw the Stuff Sale sign in the parking lot of the furniture store at 6185 Graham Hill Road, I thought "oh boy!" and immediately stopped to check it out.

The race to fill Mark Stone’s shoes as a Santa Cruz County supervisor representing the 5th District will certainly heat up once the holidays have passed. With six candidates, from a career politician to those nearly green behind the ears, voters have a colorful spectrum to choose from when filling the county seat in June.

President Obama, I'd like to thank you for your resilience in this era after 12 years of Bushes. Even my used-to-be-Republican friends — quite rare in the Santa Cruz Mountains — hope you succeed. Mr. Barack, we're on your side. Might I add, good luck, because your plate is full. I'm grateful that you're our president.
