Op Ed: First-time voter to case June ballot for library improvements

“Excitement flourishes in moments like these. Moments when you have waited and worked eighteen years to see. This day is voting day with full rights to have a say, in the way we aspire to structure the lives we live.”

Don’t dismiss FAA flight failure

Thank you, Press-Banner readers

This is simply to thank all of the people who have supported and enjoyed reading the Press-Banner while I have been its editor. When I first stepped into that role, I invited people to stop by the office and get acquainted and to tell me what you like about the paper - and many of you did.

Solution to Lompico Water District’s woes could be merger with SLVWD

As Supervisor of the 5th District, I am concerned with the health and welfare of all my constituents. Several years ago, when I learned of the ongoing water crisis in Lompico, I convened stakeholders to find the most viable solution. After much research, it was determined that consolidation of the Lompico Water District into the San Lorenzo Valley Water District is the best answer.

Dear Editor,

In an age where we take so many precautions to ensure our children’s’ safety from the dangers of the world at large, it’s appalling to see their very lives threatened daily and willfully at Brook Knoll Elementary school by parents themselves.

San Lorenzo Valley Water District provides reliable, safe drinking water

The San Lorenzo Valley Water District staff works hard to ensure customers have access to drinking water that meets or exceeds all State and Federal drinking water standards. The process to do so involves sampling and testing water, protecting the watershed and maintaining the distribution system.

Dear Editor,

I reside at the end of a privately maintained old lumber road. On Friday, January 22, Scenic Way was blocked to all inbound and outbound traffic due to downed tree/power lines. Our neighborhood is fortunate to have an alternative access route when either Scenic or Park Drive closes. When one road closes, all residential traffic is funneled through this private section. With more than a hundred vehicles passing through, the road quickly turned to thick mud; previous hardpan turned into deep pot holes, and two cars ended up in the drainage ditch.
