Falcon girls fall to SC in five

A spirited five-set girls volleyball match between Scotts Valley and Santa Cruz High schools resulted in a loss for the Falcons this week, dropping the squad to 4-5 in the Santa Cruz Coast Athletic League and 7-6 overall.

Falcon softball beat Cougars

Scotts Valley’s Nikki Owens fanned 14 batters and allowed the Cougars (1-3 in league, 8-11 overall) only three hits in seven innings in the Falcon’s 9-0 thumping of their cross-town rival.

Scotts Valley Fire Department and CAL Fire, thank you for once again doing an outstanding job saving the properties in our Bethany University neighborhood. The recent fire (on Tuesday Sept. 24) was contained within minutes! I am continually impressed at your professionalism and capabilities. It makes me feel proud and safe to live in this City.
