**Lucius Lincoln Niesen was born to Bonnie Joanne (Bowman) and Travis Jeffrey Niesen of Scotts Valley at 10:25 a.m. Nov. 9, 2010. He weighed 8 pounds, 13 ounces at Sutter Maternity and Surgery Center in Santa Cruz.

Let’s go fishin’: Trout fin clipping a success

Monterey Bay Salmon Trout Project hosted its annual fin-clip event early this month, and all the volunteers had a great time. In the meantime, as anglers wait for rains to bring steelhead, local fishing is centered on rockfish and crab.
