A Nov. 11, 2011, wedding in Santa Cruz is being planned for Jason William Pellett and Chelsie Lynne Lilley, both of Scotts Valley.

When to pick your grapes is an extremely important question and with harvest season right around the corner it’s something that wine makers will soon be asking. It’s a decision they must make every harvest because it will in part determine what kind of wine they are trying to craft. They must take into consideration Brix, weather, tannins, ripeness and much more.

If you haven’t heard about the benefits of eating locally grown food, if only from a bumper sticker, then you must be new to Santa Cruz County.

I don't have room for any new plants. Really, I don't — but come spring, I just can't help myself.

To quote Luther Burbank, "Flowers always make people better, happier and more helpful; they are sunshine, food and medicine for the soul." After visiting the garden of Bev Kaplan in Boulder Creek, I couldn't agree more.

The Felton Historic Covered Bridge Park needs standard restrooms! The existing two, one person use “portable” little boxes are totally inadequate.
