Falcons and Cougars head to CCS Track and Field Championship 
The Central Coast Section track and field semifinals were held on Saturday at the San Jose City College Stadium.
A total of 24 athletes from San Lorenzo Valley and Scotts Valley High Schools attended, and 13 made it to the finals, which will be held on Friday at 6 p.m.
Two locals won the preliminaries, SLVHS’s Sam Schubert won 110-meter hurdles and SVHS’s Julie Zweng won the girls high jump.
The Following athletes will compete for the CCS Championship on Friday:
SVHS: Hayley Herberg, Julie Zweng, Lexi Stevens, Draven Hawk, and Luke McCartney.
SLVHS: Abbey Meck, Kaila Gibson, Carolina Guzman, Cassie Ackerman, Nick Heath, Sam Schubert.
SVHS Softball goes to CCS Finals
The Scotts Valley High School girl’s Softball team is going to the CCS Championship finals on Saturday, at the PAL Stadium in San Jose. On Wednesday afternoon, the team beat Santa Catalina High School 8-6 at the CCS Semifinals that were held at the Salinas sports complex.
